DUBLIN, June 5 (Xinhua) -- One man was killed and another two were injured in a shooting inside a boxing club in Bray, Ireland on Tuesday, local media RTE reported.

The injured include Pete Taylor, the father of Katie Taylor, a well-known Irish boxer who has won a number of gold medals at world-level boxing events, said the report.

According to the report, the shooting happened at about 7:00 a.m. local time (0600 GMT) on Tuesday inside Bray Boxing Club in the country's eastern coastal town, which lies about 20 km from Dublin city center.

A man walked into the club and fired a number of shots before fleeing the scene in a silver Volkswagen Caddy van, eyewitnesses told police.

Police and rescue teams rushed to the site shortly after the incident was reported.

The injured, including 57-year-old Pete Taylor and a 35-year-old man, have been taken to a nearby hospital. Their conditions are not known.

Police have cordoned off the crime scene at the club and conducted a search operation in the surrounding areas.

The nature of the incident has not yet been determined, said police. Earlier reports suggested it could be related to personal enmities.

Irish justice minister Charlie Flanagan expressed shock at the news and condemned the attack. He called for people to come forward with information in relation to the incident.
