    HANOI, July 26 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has decided to offer Laos 200,000 U.S. dollars to help the neighbor country overcome consequences of the collapse of a hydropower dam in Attapeu province, the Vietnamese government portal announced on Thursday.

    The prime minister has also instructed Vietnam's National Committee on Incident, Disaster Response, and Search and Rescue to coordinate with the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies to make proposals, before July 30, on assist Laos on the site of the collapsed dam.

    Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith said Wednesday that some 131 people were still missing after a hydropower dam collapsed in southern Laos earlier this week.

    The collapse of the under-construction Xepian-Xe Nam Noy hydropower dam triggered flash flood in seven villages of Sanamxay district in Lao's southern Attapeu Province.
