ANKARA, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Turkish police on Friday arrested two more suspects for connections to Monday's U.S. embassy drive-by shooting in capital Ankara, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

The suspects are currently being interrogated by police department, according to the report, citing a police source.

Friday's arrests raise the total number of arrestees to four. Two suspects, named as Ahmet Celikten and Osman Gudas, were detained on Monday and confessed that they attacked the U.S. embassy under the influence of alcohol.

The detention period for Ahmet Celikten and Osman Gundas has been extended, the report added.

The gun attack took place at 5:30 a.m. local time (0230GMT) on Monday, when six shots were fired from a white vehicle at the U.S. embassy's main entrance, hitting a window of a security cabin but causing no casualties.

Turkish Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin condemned the attack on Twitter, describing it as "a clear attempt to create chaos," amid an escalating row between the United States and Turkey over the detention of a U.S. pastor.
