NEW DELHI, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly condemned the multiple blasts that rocked Sri Lankan capital Colombo on Sunday.

The deadly explosions have killed more than 200 people and injured over 400 others.

In his condolence message, Modi said that India stands in solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka at this hour.

"Strongly condemn the horrific blasts in Sri Lanka. There is no place for such barbarism in our region. India stands in solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka. My thoughts are with the bereaved families and prayers with the injured," tweeted the Indian prime minister.

Meanwhile, the Indian government has been keeping a close watch on the situation evolving in Sri Lankan capital Colombo in the aftermath of the serial blasts that rocked the city on Sunday morning, said the country's External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.

At least 138 people have so far been confirmed dead and more than 400 injured in the serial blasts, two in hotels and four in churches on the occasion of Easter festival, media reports said.

"I am in constant touch with Indian High Commissioner in Colombo. We are keeping a close watch on the situation," tweeted Sushma Swaraj.
