BEIJING, May 8 (Xinhua) -- China's volleyball star Zhu Ting confirmed to Xinhua that she's parted ways with VakifBank, saying she's grateful for the past three years playing for the Turkish club.

"I appreciate everything I've learnt and experienced in the VakifBank team. They took very good care of me and helped me a lot improve both as a volleyball player and a person," Zhu, captain of the Chinese women's national team, said Tuesday evening.

The Turkish club released a poster on their official website with the photo of the Chinese skipper posing on court and words of "thanks, Ting Zhu" in Chinese characters.

Zhu, who joined the VakifBank women's volleyball team in 2016, scored 2150 points in 125 matches in the yellow-black shirt, winning twice each in the FIVB Club World Championships, CEV Champions League and Sultan League, as well as lifting the Turkey Cup and Supercup championship with the Turkish side.

The VakifBank club thanked Zhu Ting in its press release. "Zhu Ting is highly valued for our team," read the statement.

Zhu also sang high praise of the club, rating it a very professional one.

"It's the first time for me to play abroad and to serve a foreign club. The experience of the past three years with VakifBank is very important to me," the 24-year-old said.

"They showed me how a professional volleyball club runs. There're good trainers, high level players, and more importantly, very good teamwork.

"I want to thank them for everything they gave me in the past three seasons, and also, to thank myself to have worked all out to be myself but better," she added.

Zhu told Xinhua that she'll definitely come back to play China's local league but has not yet decided which club she wants to join.
