ISTANBUL, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- A Turkish designer on Wednesday displayed her newest collection, inspired by the country's renowned Neolithic site Gobekli Tepe, at a fashion week in Istanbul.

Yelda Aslan's interpretation of Gobekli Tepe consists of the main themes of love, rage and faith, the "three oldest sentiments of human beings."

Cooperating with Turkish painter Serra Erdogan, Aslan displays the emotions through bright and colorful patterns and symbols installed on her designs.

The designer created a total of 22 different pieces to be presented for the first time at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul, the biggest fashion show in Turkey that runs until Friday.

Speaking to Xinhua minutes before the runway show started, Aslan said the creation of fabrics out of Erdogan's paintings was challenging but also an exciting experience.

"The process was very difficult because you have some paintings in front of you, and you are looking and thinking about what to do ... to take some symbols and patterns from inside and create a new dress," she said, noting she is completely satisfied with the end products.

Now she is considering another symbolic place in Turkey for her next collection and a brand-new design by using the same technique.

Gobekli Tepe in southeastern Turkey, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, dates back to 12,000 years ago.
